The Kenya National Union of Nurses Nyamira County branch secretary general Richard Nyamache has criticised the new Health Bill presented to the Senate by the National Assembly with proposals of barring some medics from holding leadership positions in public hospitals.
Addressing journalists at Nyamira Level Four Hospital on Thursday, Nyamache said the bill is biased, further stating that if passed as it is, it may bring disharmony among medical staff.
"We are really protesting against this Health Bill because it is discriminatory and it is meant to bring division among health workers," said Nyamache.
The official urged the Senate not to pass the Bill.
" We are appealing to the Senate to kindly look into this bill critically and see it as something that is going to affect the country's health sector," he added.
