As the country gears up for next year's general election, a section of ODM supporters in Nyamira County are of the opinion that Raila Odinga should be Cord's flag bearer.
A section of ODM supporters who spoke to this writer on Wednesday in Nyamira town said the ODM party leader is the best bet to contest against President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Cord co-principals include Ford Kenya's Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka of Wiper party, all who have declared their candidature in carrying the Cord mantle.
Mong'are Sitima, a staunch Raila supporter said the country stands to develop more if he wins the presidency.
"I believe Raila Odinga can develop this country economically as compared to Kalonzo and Wetangula because he fought for multi-party democracy in Kenya," said Sitima.
On his part, Kennedy Ombongi, a charcoal vendor said Raila is in a better position to beat Uhuru in the next year's elections.
"The only man in the opposition who is a real threat to the Jubilee administration is Raila as compared to Wetangula and Kalonzo and he should be the person to be in the ballot," added Ombongi.
