Governor John Nyagarama and West Mugirango MP James Gesami, who also doubles as Nyamira County ODM Chairman, are yet to comply with the dateline that elapses on Saturday.

Only retired judge David Onyancha and Dr. John Kumenda who have submitted their papers ahead of ODM primaries scheduled February 2017.

Supporters to the two protagonists have been engaging each other with accusations and counter accusations of an alleged plot to ‘rig’ elections before the actual nominations.

Even though records at Orange House still shows that none of the two has submitted papers, the two camps have persistently maintained that they complied long ago.

Recently, ODM leader Raila Odinga maintained that the party will not favour of any party, insisting that the party will conduct free and fair nominations.

“Not even the Governor or party treasurer can dictate the will of people. People will make their decision and the party shall award the winner,” he said.

Both Nyagarama and Gesami are keen to secure the ODM ticket, a party which is perceived to be predominant in Nyamira County.
