Over 50 orphans from Risa Orphanage home in Kitutu Masaba have a reason to smile after receiving several donations of goods worth Sh200,00 by the newly constituted Swanya Foundation.
Speaking during the colorful ceremony held in the orphanage yesterday, founder Victor Swanya said the home will continue receiving monthly support from him and urged elites from the region to support such initiatives.
“I'm humbled to be here today since this is my home. This donation that I have given will be repeated every month and I urge other well off people to join the course,” said the aspiring MP.
The businessman said he will be sponsoring bright students from the orphanage with an aim of giving them hope in life.
“The Swanya Foundation promotes education in this region hence all bright students will be supported by us," he said.
"It’s our responsibility to ensure we support such brains for the better future of not only this region but Bogetutu at large.”
Swanya challenged area youths to embrace economically gainful activities, promising relentless support to reduce unemployment.
“It’s a sad thing that our jobless youths have remained idle in most instances. I beg them to participate in gainful activities which [we] are always ready to support,” he added.
