Speaking to Hivisasa.com after their meeting with management collapsed on Tuesday, Takima Academy parents said the school officials should have consulted widely before compelling parents to pay extra money to accommodate the plan.

They vowed to remain stubborn, besides making arrangements to call for mass exodus of students from the institution if the issue was not addressed urgently from a non-partisan point of view.

“It is really worrying that we are being told to pay extra fee for the institution to start offering boarding facility. There are a lot of logistics that should be put in place like making electricity connections before affecting the plan,” said Alice Moraa.

“We are going to remain stubborn till our concerns are heard. In case the management isn’t ready to listen, we will call for mass exodus of students from the institution,” added Alfred Ombego.

However, school head teacher Charles Onsongo said the boarding facility was for parents who were willing and able and denied claims of compelling parents to comply with the plan.

“There is no time and moment I have ever asked everyone to comply with the plan. This is only for parents who are willing and able. We will access the number of those who are ready and see whether it will work out,” Onsongo said.
