Emotions ran high in Nyamira County on Monday morning after a trailer ran over a pastor's wife Joyce Momanyi killing her on the spot.
Witnesses said Joyce was on a motorbike whose rider entered the highway from a petrol station without ensuring the road was clear and that is when the trailer crashed them leaving the rider with serious injuries.
Her husband, Pastor Richard Nyakeyo, who arrived at the scene a few minutes after the accident, was unable to hold the grieve following the loss of his wife.
Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama, a close family friend, mourned her at the accident scene before the body was moved to Nyamira Level 5 mortuary.
He said the late Joyce was God-fearing and hard working as well.
"I am saddened by Joyce's death, she is a woman I know better and who has been so close to my family. I won't forget how much she has done to our family and to Nyakeyo himself, my condolences to the family and friends," said Nyagarama.
