Police at Ekerenyo police station in Nyamira North sub-county on Saturday arrested a suspect with an AK47 rifle.
The arrest comes barely days after a businessman at Obwari market, Nyamusi division was shot dead by an unidentified gang.
The suspect is alleged to be linked to the murder.
Confirming the arrest, Nyamira North division OCPD Joseph Mutende said they arrested the suspect following a tip-off from residents.
"We were given a tip-off by our good residents and we acted immediately," said Mutende.
He continued; "We arrested him with an AK47 rifle with 30 bullets. We have launched a manhunt for the other suspects".
The suspect is being held at the Nyamira South police station awaiting to be arraigned in court on Monday according to the station OCS Alex Mumo.
