Nyamira residents have been advised to visit health centers to know their HIV status.
Speaking to this writer on Sunday at Gesima, retired health officer Mrs. Salome Mokeira said that it was advisable for residents to regularly visit hospitals so that they can be tested to enable them to lead healthy lives.
Mrs. Salome said that a disease like HIV/Aids is easily spread since people fear to visit health centers for a test and the more people fear the more the number of infected people increase.
She has therefore challenged health officers to organise forums to meet residents to advise them on the importance of regular check ups.
“I challenge the ministry of health to put measures in place so that they can organise forums that can help people to understand the importantance of being tested,” said Salome.
Salome further said that the health sector has many challenges that need to be addressed in early stages so that residents can know what to do.
