Nyamira residents have criticised the tendency of Nyamira members of the County Assembly going for recess before deliberating on issues affecting residents.
During an interview on Thursday, the residents criticised the move terming it selfish.
"This tendency of our MCAs to always go for recess whenever they feel like is unacceptable because they are supposed to spend most of their time deliberating developmental issues in the assembly," said Erick Nyachae, a resident.
Nyang'au Omae, a charcoal vendor in Nyamira urged the county speaker Joash Nyamoko to ensure the house does not go on recess before they deliberate on issues affecting the residents.
"My urge to speaker Joash Nyamoko is to ensure the House doesn't go on recess before they deliberate on issues affecting us, like now they should break from recess and commence house business to discuss the safety of bodaboda riders," said Omae.
This comes after a bodaboda rider with his two passengers perished in a road accident last Saturday, after a vehicle knocked them down near Huduma centre, along the Nyamira- Kisii road.
