The residents who attended the session among them civil society activist John Kebaso, said the budget did not disclose the estimates for all ministries except health.

"They want to satisfy us by just presenting the estimates because the law demands it but in the real sense, it's a way of stealing our money through those ministries," said Kebaso.

He claimed the Executive Committee Member for Finance Reuben Sinange did not give estimates for sensitive ministries such as roads, a docket in which he said many have raised questions regarding the tendering process and resulting in lots of funds being returned to the national Treasury.

"This Ministry of Roads has been so corrupt in issuing and cancelling tenders hence the reason why so much money was returned to the national Treasury and we are suffering from poor roads" claimed Kebaso.

However, Governor John Nyagarama refuted the claims saying the ministry only forwarded Sh700,000 to next financial year due to delayed payment to contractors and because other tenders were cancelled because contractors were doing shoddy work hence the county was unable to continue with their contracts.

"We cancelled some tenders yes, it is because we were never to keep doing shoddy work and the money that was not used doesn't not return to treasury but it's the balances that we start with this starting financial year," Nyagarama clarified.

The budgetary estimates for the F/Y 2016-17 for county government of Nyamira is Sh5.9 billion where the Ministry of Health gets the biggest share of Sh1.85 billion.
