Nyamira residents have proposed that the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) kitty be under county governments to ensure more development in counties.
They said the kitty now under the management of members of Parliament is not benefiting them claiming that discrimination is rife in issuance of funds among constituents.
Addressing the press on Thursday in Nyamira town, the residents led by Dadius Mwebi challenged the national government to devolve the kitty to foster development in counties.
“As residents we don’t benefit much from the CDF kitty, since 2013 national roads are still impassable. What is the meaning of the kitty when the roads are in bad state? posed Mwebi.
“Students get bursaries according to how who they know in the CDF board. Let the kitty be devolved to bring more developments in various parts of the county,” he added.
Jenifer Nyangarasi said the kitty only benefits MPs and not their constituencies.
