Speaking on Thursday at Kiabonyoru primary during a prize giving ceremony, secretary general  Churchill Achika said the move by TSC will restore discipline and order in the teaching fraternity.

He asked TSC to act with speed and investigate other cases that have not been solved for years.

“Teachers are role models to many children in the society and therefore, good conduct is very essential. TSC has acted in order and as primary school heads from Nyamira, we support the move of expunging the names of accused teachers from the register,” he said.

“We are also parents and our children must be in safe hands. Whoever rapes or molests a student must be held liable. I also call upon TSC to deal with teachers who impregnate their students,” he added.

His sentiments were supported by Mr Isaac Nyang’au of Kiambere who asked the Ministry of Education to give school heads powers to prosecute such cases.

“We are always on the ground and consequently, we are in touch with our teachers. The government should give us powers to handle such cases in an aim to expedite justice,” he said.
