Speaking at Borabu Primary school today, area MCA Hon. Alfayo Mwongeresa said pupils were wasting a lot of time going for lunch, something that has immensely affected performance in national exams.

“There is a lot of time wasted in going home to have lunch and coming. This time can be recovered if feeding programs are introduced. It is not a difficult thing as long as parents, education stake holders and local leaders sit and discuss”, he said.

He said parents should embrace the idea and urged the county leadership of Hon. John Nyagarama to cheap in and subsidizes the costs.

“As parents we should support the idea. This is about the future of our children. I will .personally approach the governor and urge him to subsidize. Am sure MCAs will support that idea the moment it reaches the floor of the house”, he added.

Mr. Mwongeresa said the initiative besides recovering time lost, it will give willing teachers humble time to interact with students and improve his subject’s performance.

“this will not only a major initiative in regulating time lost during lunch hours, but also give teachers time to complete their syllabuses and improve the performance of their respective subjects”, said the optimistic MCA.
