Several Adventist churches from Nyamira Conference are set to receive satellite transmission dishes that will enable them receive evangelism sessions from abroad easily, a senior official has confirmed.
Speaking at Magombo village during a funeral ceremony on Thursday, Pastor Henry Nyamwanda said the expenses of the satellite dishes would be catered for by the Nyamira Conference in conjunction with SDA followers from Kenya, but based in United States of America.
He said the dishes are expected in the country by June, and will be dispatched to over 500 churches in the region so that believers would access and interact with other Adventists around the world.
“I am happy to inform you that by June all churches from the region will access preaching and crusades from other parts of the world through digital satellites,” said Nyamwanda.
“The Nyamira conference and Kenyan Adventists living in USA has decided to purchase the dishes as a way of unifying the SDA church with other believers around the world,” he added.
The move was welcomed by a number of church elders who hailed the regional conference and Kenyans in the diaspora, saying they will be able to learn more besides getting extra teachings from their counterparts in other continents.
“Personally I am happy of this tremendous project since it is a way of sharing the word of God with other people in the globe. We really appreciate the effort,” said John Mosioma of Magombo SDA Church.
