The Ford Kenya allied legislator launched his bid Tuesday at the Serena Hotel, Nairobi.

According to him, the decision was driven by belief that Kenyans have been betrayed by subsequent ('same') governments since Kenya attained  independence.

He expressed optimism that he will win by beating his rivals, such as incumbent president Uhuru Kenyatta, Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetangula, Musalia Mudavadi among others.

''I am not a spoiler, and not a project either. I want to serve Kenyans,'' he warned critics, Tuesday.

It is however no yet clear which party he will use to seek for the post.
