Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula’s remarks over the ongoing tour of ODM party leader Raila Odinga in western Kenya have been termed as ‘unfortunate’ by Nyamira Senator Okong’o Mong’are.
Wetangula who spoke during a KTN interview on Thursday faulted Raila’s trip for allegedly excluding him, and insisted that the ODM leader had no alternative other than supporting a different candidate for the 2017 polls or the coalition risks losing to their opponents.
But Mong’are, a Ford Kenya Senator who has recently shown interest in shifting to Jubilee, dismissed the Senate Minority Leader as a ‘cry baby’ and insisted that Raila's trip had nothing to do with Ford Kenya.
“The remarks of my party leader on Raila’s trip were unfortunate and uncalled for. Raila went to consolidate support of his ODM party and not Ford Kenya. I will support him on this one,” he said.
“Wetangula should wake up and desist from being a cry baby. He concentrates so much on the Cord coalition rather than our Ford Kenya party. It’s important that you build your house first before calling outsiders to support you,” he added on Friday.
On the presidential candidate, Mong’are insisted that the coalition had to conduct its nominations earlier so that its supporters are aware of the flag bearer.
“Well, I don’t know who should be the flag bearer but the issue of demeaning a different candidate doesn’t work at all. They have to sit down and come up with one candidate of they are serious in beating Jubilee,” he added.
