Nyamira County Assembly Speaker Joash Nyamoko has vehemently denied claims that he is not in good working relationship with Governor John Nyaragama.
This comes moments after sources intimated that the county boss was unhappy with the Speaker following his unprecedented move to Jubilee Alliance Party which is affiliated to his competitors; Walter Nyambati and Charles Mochama.
During an exclusive interview with this writer on Thursday, Nyamoko dismissed the claims as ‘illusions and fictitious’, terming his relationship with the governor as cordial.
“I want to insist that my relationship with the governor is cordial because we have never had any major challenges when executing our respective responsibilities,” he said.
“I respect his job and I am happy he respects mine too. The rumour going around about a strained relationship is just an illusion and fictitious from a few individuals who want to create a crisis from nowhere,” he added.
Nyamoko said his move from the Kenya National Congress to JAP was a none issue since it had ‘nothing’ to with his relationship with the governor.
“I don’t think my decision to move to JAP has anything to do with our relationship. I have never been a member of ODM where he belongs so the allegations are insincere. What we need is harmony and nothing else,” he said.
