Nyamira Speaker Joash Nyamoko has warned House committee chairpersons against shoddy responses to critical questions concerning the performance of various departments.
This comes moments after several MCAs on Monday questioned the competency of Bonyamatuta MCA Robinson Mocheche following answers on Water Committee which were termed as 'shoddy.'
And on Tuesday, Nyamoko challenged committee leaders to do thorough investigations on matters raised on the floor of the House for effective implementation by the affected departments.
“House committee leaders should be serious with their jobs. When critical matters are raised on the floor of the House, we need serious answers because it affects the ordinary person in Nyamira,” said Nyamoko.
“You must take substantial time to analyse the investigations and come up with recommendations that can help us implement serious policies. Take time to interrogate the affected departments so that your answers to questions are effective and valid,” he added.
He also challenged the departmental committee to carry out inquiries within the shortest time possible to avoid procrastination of serious issues affecting residents of Nyamira County.
