Students across Nyamira county are in the last minute rush to ensure that they get their bursary forms submitted ahead of the Friday deadline set by the county.
There were a good number of students from various colleges and schools at Nyamira county headquarters to submitting their bursary forms in order to benefit.
According to one of the applicants Denis Omwoma, the process this year has been made easy as bursary forms could be obtained from the chief’s office or from the sub-county education offices.
One of the senior officials from the county bursary committee Biliah Boyani said that this year they have received more bursary applicants and they expect the number to increase as there has been an increased awareness campaign over the same.
She said that the only requirements that a parent should have is; a child passes and there is no means to provide the school fees needed, if the parent is a low income earner and is struggling with paying for the child’s fees and if he or she feels that they need assistance. He also added that the forms were also available from schools.
“We want to assure all the genuine applicants that they will get their bursaries money allocated to their various schools in a month’s time,” she said.
