The county government of Nyamira is set to draft a Bill that will see the health sector prioritised and improved in the county. The county has been using laws put up by the national government and they feel that it is good they come up with their own regulations that will be used by health officers in serving the people, said Charles Mogaka, the director of civic education in the health department of Nyamira. “We have been using the national government law in running our health services but we are now drafting our own that will see county health operations run smoothly,” he said. He said the law will empower the health services unit in the county to provide quality care to Nyamira residents. He said a committee made of people from different sectors has been constituted to ensure that the Bill is drafted well and taken to the county assembly. “The committee comprises officers from the health sector, agriculture department, social services department, education department, water department and other departments and the county assembly shall enact the Bill into law,” said Mogaka.
