Gesima market traders of Nyamira County have asked their county government to construct and build them sheds.
The purpose of the sheds would be to protect them and their merchandise of trade against destruction through any type of weather.
According to the traders, the county government through their area MCA promised to improve the market a while back but have done nothing to date. Led by Simeon Nyakina, a business chairman, the traders said the county promised the building of sheds yet they have still not acted on that promise leaving the traders stranded.
“The government of Nyamira has been promising to help us but nothing so far has been done. We are, therefore, urging them to remember as since we always pay taxes without fail. Please keep your word and do as you had promised,’’ said Nyakina.
In addition, they said that it will be good if the county government could construct the market by building some structures which will enable them sell goods even in the bad weather.
“During rainy seasons, we always encounter loses so we urge our county government to find a way of helping us out,” added Nyakina.
