Nyamira governor should consider holding dialogue with youths to iron out various issues affecting the young generation to salvage his 2017 re-election bid, a young aspiring MCA has said.

Mr. Timothy Omariba who also represents Bayer Groups of Company that supplies upcoming young farmers with fertilizers and seeds on Thursday said that Governor John Nyagarama’s regime had forgotten the young generation and said he was likely to be embarrassed in 2017 if he fails to consolidate their support through dialogue.

The young Gesima aspirant said the county government had failed to support youth related initiatives in the region hence leading to a rebellion from the youthful generation.

“Time has come for the county boss to call the youths for a dialogue. There are several and key areas affecting the youths that the county government has ignored. Perhaps that is why he is facing a lot of rebellion from the young generation,” he said.

According to Mr. Omariba, the ministry of youth affairs in Nyamira had become literally non-functional since it was unable to identify and support social-economic challenges that were facing the youths.

“The ministry of youths is not performing its duties well. They are unable to support social-economical activities among the youths and this has really led to a serious economic youth crisis in the county. Dialogue will be the only way out if he wants to retain his seat in 2017,” he added.

On Sunday 27 Dec 2015, Nyamira Youths will be holding a major youth Summit that is set to address issues affecting the youths in the South Nyanza based county.
