Barely a month since he took the oath of office, the Nyamira youth president has accused certain forces within the county government for blocking his efforts to fight for the youths.
Speaking to Hivisasa.com on Tuesday, Mr Justus Maeche said certain forces that he threatened to reveal to the public were determined to see the youths from the region continue lagging behind in development.
According to him, the Ministry of Youths had failed to hold the meeting with his leadership despite making several attempts to meet them and discuss issues regarding the youths in the region.
“I am a very sad man because things aren’t moving the same way I expected. Some people are determined to block the youths from achieving their objectives in the county and that is unacceptable. I want to also take on the youth’s ministry since it has failed to hold a meeting with my group to discuss issues regarding the youths,” he said.
Maeche threw another scathing attack to the young members of county assembly for allegedly failing to push for the youth agendas in the assembly in compliance to their nomination or election to the county assembly.
“We also have a couple of members of county assembly elected or nominated. But my worry though is that they have never come with anything concrete pertaining the youths and that is very painful. Time has come for the youths to rise up and challenge the county leadership,” he added.
He promised to rally behind the youths and mobilizes them to fight for their rights in the county government.
