Youth from Gachuba Ward in Kitutu Masaba have started a voluntary counseling with an aim of bringing up children with required morality that meets international standards in the community.

The counseling group constituting of ten youths will be targeting children aged between 2-10 years and will aim at teaching them good morals and ethics and the tender age.

Speaking at the group’s headquarters at Gachuba market on Monday, chairlady Mary Kerubo said they arrived at the decision following deteriorating moral standards among young people in the region.

“There have been several questions from our elders regarding our diminishing morality. Many young people are said to be disrespecting their elders and that is why we want to bring up these kinds with required moral standards in the society,” she said.

She asked parents to send children to the facility during weekend where they will have an opportunity to learn emerging issues and good manners besides getting few education related studies.

‘Parents not only from this ward but across the constituency should send their young ones every weekend here. We will be able to teach them a lot of things and sometimes we will be teaching them academic content of their level,” she added.

Kerubo lauded area political leadership for renting a house for the group besides offering to support them financially whenever need be.

“I would like to most profusely thank our MP Hon. Timothy Bosire for offering the house to us. He will also be financing us whenever necessary,” she said.
