A group of youths in Nyamira county has defended education Cs Fred Matiang’I, saying MPs who are threatening to impeach him have ill plans against the Gusii community.

The youths led by Samora Nyamoi on Wednesday said Matiang’I have been doing a commendable job since he was appointed to serve in the education ministry.

Nyamoi said the MPs pushing Matiang’I to resign are in fear of losing their certificates they acquired illegally.

“Matiang’i has transformed the education sector. Cartels who acquired their academic certificates are now in fear of losing the documents following a crackdown the Cs has started. The lawmakers should drop their plans of impeaching him and concentrate on developing their areas of administration,” said Nyamoi.

He asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to re-appoint Matiang’I to serve in the same capacity.

“Uhuru should not drop Matiang’I in fear of criticism. The Cs has proved to be a performer and those criticizing his work are idlers derailing the country backward,” he said.

He urged Gusii leaders to unite and defend Matiang’I from critics.
