The youths who otherwise remained calm and composed chanted anti-IEBC songs and managed to woo business people and local community to join them for the successful demos.

Dennis Marube and Caroline Mogere who ODM Youth and Women League respectively demanded that government joins calls to disband IEBC for the sake of stability in the country.

“These demos will never cease till IEBC bows out of the office. I am shocked that Jubilee has remained hell bent in joining calls to disband the commission. They should learn from the guidance from diplomats and the church,” Marube said.

“Our opponents should come out and tell us where a commission with people who have even been implicated in a Chicken gate scandal should supervise and election. Time has come for IEBC to pack and go,” he added.

Mogere on her part challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta to heed to calls for a dialogue over the matter before it escalates.

“The mood on ground shows that we are not ready for an election with IEBC as referee. Our party leaders wrote to the president but we are shocked that he hasn’t responded,” she said.
