Speaking at Rigoma Catholic church on Monday, Personal Assistant (PA) to Kitutu Masaba MP Justus Omiti challenged youths to seize opportunities come 2017 general elections and go for elective posts to increase their number in county headquarters.

“We did not fair well in 2013, but I hope things will change this time round. Women should have a say in development of the county and they can only do that if some of them hold elective posts,” said Omiti.

He urged the area residents not to be scared by old narrative that one has to be married for him or her to assume a political office besides calling the older generation to pave way for youths.

“I call upon our elders to pave way for young leadership for real change. They have been governing us for long and this is time to quit,” added Omiti.

He said nothing will deter youths from realising dreams of equal leadership besides promising to throw his support for youths who were ready to challenge their elders especially at ward levels.

“When you critically look at our county leadership, most of MCAs are old guards. This positions are rightfully ours and we should do our level best to hold the positions,” said Omiti.
