Ex-officials of Nyamonya Farmers’ Co-operative Society, Bobasi Chache Ward in Sameta sub-county have been warned against fuelling leadership wrangles within the ranks of the current Board of Management, led by Chairman Moses Oroko.

Bobasi Sub-County Deputy Co-operatives Commissioner, Samuel Matonda has issued a stern warning to the immediate former and ex-officials of the co-operative society that the government will not condone their activities meant to cause leadership wrangles within the society's current management.

Speaking at Nyamonya Society headquarters during the society's one third rotational elections for Bosansa, Bogichoncho and Boitang'are/Boinchari electoral areas, Matonda warned ex-officials to keep off politics in the running of the society, and instead allow the mandated Board of directors to discharge their duties according to the co-operative Act.

During the elections presided over by Matonda, Bomachoge sub-county deputy Co-operatives Commissioner Benard Ochieng', and Kisii County auditor, James Makang'a, the former  Chairman Julius Maganga from Boitang'are electoral area, who was expelled from the society over allegations of corruptly swindling the members' over Sh700,000 dividends, was replaced by Stephen Masese as a board member.

The Board Vice-Chairman Wilfred Matoke retained his Bogichoncho seat after beating his opponent, Nyangaresi Tinega, with William Atinda from Bosansa electoral area sailing through an opposed as a Board member to replace the former Honorary Secretary who hailed from the area Nathan Mogambi, who was expelled together with Maganga over graft allegations.

Maganga has since been blacklisted and barred indefinitely by the society's members from seeking any elective seat in the society, following his alleged swindling of members' dividends amounting to over Sh700,000, accruing from their shares held at the Co-operative Bank of Kenya, Kisii branch under the account name of the former Nyakegogi Farmers’ Co-operative Society.
