If the mood on the ground is anything to go by, then Kisumu Women Representative Rose Nyamunga will have an easy ride en route to Parliament, thanks to her efforts aimed at empowering the community.
According to residents, Ms Nyamunga's work has been felt on the ground since many residents have had their lives improved.
Ms Nyamunga's economic empowerment initiatives were launched in September 2013.
Mary Auma who resides in Kondele said the mentoring programme introduced by her has been a life-changer since 2013.
To her, she has learnt the culture of saving money and also proper utilization of resources for the sake of her family.
"We urge other women in leadership positions to emulate the example of the Women Representative to change the lives of people here. Her Economic empowerment programme here has changed our lives. We need more people like her," she said on Friday.
To Dorris Adhiambo, the narrative is the same.
She said the advice she has been getting courtesy of Rose Nyamunga's programme has helped improve her life.
