A few days after a section of Kisii county leaders led a delegation to Deputy President William Ruto’s home in Sugoi on what was seen as a political scheme for Jubilee government to strategize on how to win the vote rich Gusii region, South Mugirango MP has dismissed them as ‘hungry stomachs’.
Manson Nyamweya who was speaking at his Nyamarambe home on Saturday said the leaders were guided by their personal interests and challenged them to invite the top Jubilee brass to the region to face locals.
He said the leaders were setting a bad precedence for future generations and wondered why they had to hold a vital meeting several kilometers from home.
“I don’t oppose leaders meeting top leadership in the country but I am particularly angered by the venue of the meeting. It’s not possible to hold such a critical meeting discussing development of the entire region away from home. This signifies how these people are hungry stomachs who want to reap at the expense of the community,” he said.
Oyongo, an ODM member also challenged his Kitutu Chache South counterpart Richard Onyonka and Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi to resign from the party and seek fresh mandate of their preferred parities rather than bring anxiety and confusion in the orange party.
“Sometimes some leaders are insincere. I want Onyonka and Maangi (who are members of ODM) to quit our party in good faith and work with the other side because they have shown interest. They even purporting to be speaking on behalf of the community something that I don’t understand. This is the opportune time to do us a favor by seeking fresh mandate on a government sponsored party,” he said.
Maangi was particularly on center stage of criticism for leading a delegation to North Rift to see the DP and on Friday could not withstand humiliation at a funeral in Nyabururu in which a section of youths booed him when addressing mourners.
