Mr Outa said the CDF budget has since been relieved by the new Constitution which took most projects to the county government, leaving them with education and security as the major projects.

Addressing chiefs in Ahero on Monday, Outa who was responding to the concerns by the chiefs said he had been spending a lot of the CDF cash on healthcare, roads and water projects, which are now being handled by the county government.

“I am sorry I will now have to decline to do some of the water projects and roads which my people have been requesting, and I will now have to concentrate on the functions of the national government. Security will get a good share this time round and I hope all chiefs will have decent offices,” he said.

He added: “I know there are some busy bodies who are just waiting to take me to court when I get into projects not considered mine, hence I will just do my part. We cannot complete some of the projects we had started, like the mortuary and theatre at Ahero Sub County Hospital.”

With the CDF receiving Sh100 million, the chiefs will now benefit from Sh30 million, in what seems to be Outa’s last CDF management having declared interest to vie for the position of Senator in 2017.

“I want to create a good atmosphere so as to ensure that whoever takes from me will not have many challenges,” he said.
