According to the Star, the vocal ODM MP was arrested as he demanded that the school's principal, Sarah Adipo, who had been interdicted be brought back.

Assistant IG Joseph Keitany said Outa was addressing students when he was snubbed by police from Ahero police station.

"He was told to go to the station to record a statement but instead he went to the market to mobilise the youth to cause chaos," Keitany added.

The MP was, said Keitany, was later arraigned before Kisumu senior resident magistrate Julius Ngarngar.

He will remain in custody as he awaits a ruling by the magistrate on the request by the prosecution for his detention for three days as they complete investigations.
