Outa said they are in opposition and must put the government in check to ensure they implement what they promised Kenyans.

Reacting to suggestions by Kisumu Central MP Ken Obura that the region should support the government, the MP said working with the government will make it difficult for them to ensure promises made by Jubilee government are fulfilled.

The MP says CORD is fighting to ensure referendum goes through for more funds to trickle down to county governments.

"Our push for the referendum is to ensure more funds are channelled to the county government. This will stop the syndrome of begging the president for funds to develop a region,” he said.

Addressing a press conference in Kisumu, Outa said CORD is strengthening itself to win the next general election.

The MP further announced that there is need for party discipline amongst ODM party elected leaders and cited the case of Magerer Langat.

“What happened to Langat is not good but party members should be loyal and stop sleeping with our enemy,” he said.

Outa said ODM will soon discipline some elected leaders who are perceived to be working with other parties.

He said elected leaders must be loyal to their party and the action that was taken by Wiper party on some of their MCAs was bold.
