An aspiring Borabu MP has promised to construct a new building to host over 150 children’s from Nyansiongo Children’s Home in the constituency.
Dr Nyandoro Kambi who visited the children’s home Monday evening said the new building will allow the management to increase its enrollment, given rising number of children being orphaned.
He said the project will start on December 25th and is expected to cost his Nyandoro Kambi Foundation about Sh5 million, with another additional Sh500,000 that will initiate construction of new toilets.
“I have directed the management of Nyandoro Kambi Foundation to release Sh5 million so that we set a new structure that will host at least 150 children. The current premises are unable to support that number and that is why there is a lot of congestion. Again, we will set new toilets worth half a million so that sanitation around the children center is well taken care of,” he said.
Dr Kambi who was donating various items ahead of Christmas to the children center also insisted the need to support bright children from children centers across the county.
“As a community, we must ensure that they have good shelter, clothing and water but at the same time, we must give them education. That is why I am also committed in supporting those who make it to good secondary schools. That heart of giving should be emulated by those who are able,” he said.
He also called for political tolerance among county residents and urged them to carry themselves with dignity regardless of their political affiliation or religious and economical background.
