Nyamira Governor John Nyangarama has challenged politicians from the county to promote peace while engaging in politics.

According to Nyangarama, if politicians distance themselves from enmity the country will move forward to greater heights.

The county boss who was speaking on Sunday said that Kenyans should not elect leaders who promote violence because denying such politicians seats, will be key to enabling the country move forward.

“Whoever is doing politics in the country respect and peace should be given the first priority so that our country will move forward in politics and development. No need of creating enmity while engaging politics let us tells Kenyans our manifesto in development to move this country ahead,” said Nyangarama.

The governor was speaking during a fundraiser at Nyasiongo Parish in Nyamira.

The function was also attended by MPs Ben Momanyi (Borabu) and James Gesami (West Mugirango) who echoed Nyangarama's sentiments.
