Nyangusu market traders in Kisii county have threatened to boycott payment of levies to the county if the state of the centre will not be improved.

Speaking to this writer on Wednesday in the town, traders expressed their anger to the county government over frequent and unfulfilled promises.

They have given the county government one week to build sheds for traders and other promises given by the county in order to comply in paying of levies.

"We are tired of governor James Ongwae. He has given several promises and none of them have been implemented," lamented Joel Mogusu, a hawker in the town.

Another trader, Josephine Kerubo said: "We are operating in deplorable conditions and our cry to be helped by the county is yet to bear fruits.

The county promised to erect shades to protect us against the rains and the sun but we have not seen even one."
