Members of Nomiya Faith Church in Bondo who last week visited President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House, Nairobi, will be excommunicated.

The Church leaders led by Archbishop Jared Gondi said the members will be expelled for representing the church at a meeting with the President without permission.

“We will crack the whip as a way of ensuring that church members abide by and respect our principles,” he said.

The Archbishop said the leadership of the church would be called to rubberstamp the decision to excommunicate the 'errant' members.

“As the leadership of Nomiya Church, we will be forced to excommunicate such errant members so that they can go to other churches where they can practise such misconduct,” said Gondi.

During the State House visit on Tuesday last week, the faithful led by their Supreme Archbishop Caleb Olali pledged to support President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Gondi laughed off the delegation’s endorsement of Kenyatta’s re-election bid, saying the church will back the National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

“We have our own son, Raila Odinga, who is in the race. We cannot endorse another candidate,” he said.
