Alego Usonga MP Omondi Muluan has called on Nominated MP Oburu Odinga to hang his political boots and retire from active politics.

Muluan was reacting to calls by Oburu on Thursday, where he called on the locals to only vote for ODM party candidates.

He warned the locals against electing candidates from other parties.

But in a quick rejoinder, Muluan dismissed Oburu's calls, arguing that the lawmaker has exhausted his political usefulness in the region.

"Oburu cannot convince locals on who to elect because he is not development-conscious. He has been consistently interfering with the politics of Alego Usonga for selfish political interests," he stated.

The legislator was elected on a Wiper Party ticket during the 2013 general elections.

He will, however, be seeking reelection as an independent candidate after losing the ODM party ticket during the primaries.
