A section of leaders from Nyanza has congratulated President Uhuru Kenyatta following his inauguration on Tuesday.
The MPs from Migori, Kisii and Nyamira counties expressed happiness that Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto had finally taken the oath of office.
"I congratulate the President and his deputy. I want to assure them that, as the Kuria community, we are ready to work with the government," said Kuria West MP Mathias Robi.
His Kuria East counterpart Marwa Kitayama said Kenyans should stop politicking and join hands in building the nation.
He also urged Uhuru to reach out to Opposition leader Raila Odinga so as to unite the country.
"The President should have a dialogue with Raila for national reconciliation and peace," said Kitayama.
North Mugirango legislator Joash Nyamoko praised the President's speech, saying it was now time to work.
"He has set the tone for the country to move forward. It is good to assure Kenyans that he will be President for all," he remarked.
Kitutu Chache South MP-elect Richard Onyonka congratulated Uhuru and called on him to unite the country.
"The President should listen to NASA leader Raila Odinga who has raised genuine concerns," Onyonka said.
