Nyanza Regional Coordinator has today launched the National and County Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) training programme to improve service delivery.

The BPR programme targets citizens in 12 counties.

Speaking at Tom Mboya Labour College, Francis Mutie said that previously, the government processes have been seen to be long and cumbersome often requiring citizens to visit several offices to access services.

"This translates to wastage of time and resource on the part of the citizen that would ordinary be used to build the nation," said Mutie.

Mutie added, "This realisation that has brought about a re-look at the existing service delivery processes to enable imprudence."

He said that the objective of the workshop is to assist to develop core skills and competence in BPR across the public service with an aim to integrate the services at Huduma Centre.

"There is need to develop BPR champions who are component, self-motivated with knowledge and skills to transfer to colleagues," said Mutie.

He added, "This is the first one is series of training that will be conducted in order to develop critical mass of BPR champions in counties."

Mutie said the critical focus of BPR is on the customer, provision of service with speed, flexibility, quality and innovation to have a competitive advantage and increase productivity.
