[Photo|Kenyans Living It]The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has advertised for 2,205 teaching positions and asked qualified Kenyans to apply.The vacancies came about following retirement of other teachers, death or resignation between September 1 and November 2017.In a circular dated December 18, TSC CEO Nancy Macharia, said 1,681 teachers would be hired for primary schools and 524 for post primary institutions.“Applicants for vacancies in primary schools must be holders of P1 certificates and will be selected from county merit lists compiled during the June 2017 recruitment exercise,” she said adding that applicants for vacancies in post primary institutions must be holders of diplomas in education and not more than 45 years of age.In post primary recruitment, Central will get 91 slots, Coast 30, Eastern 80, Nairobi 28, North Eastern 18, Nyanza 77, Rift Valley 128 and Western region 70. Two slots would be reserved for tertiary institutions.Interested candidates were advised to apply to the secretary, board of management of the school or institution and deliver a copy to the TSC county offices by January 5.“TSC will only deal with county selection panels and boards of management in this exercise. Individual applications to the commission will not be considered,” Macharia said, urging people living with disabilities to apply.
