Led by Evans Ondieki on Tuesday, they claimed that Pastor Enock Omandi has embezzled about Sh150,000 that were part of the Sh305,000 contributed by the church and friends late April in a bid to complete a new church building.

According to them, the man of God has been violating the church constitution by assuming the role of the Church treasurer besides intimidating members of the building committee.

“We want to bring to the attention of our fellow worshippers that Pastor Omandi has been relieved of his duties as pastor of Riamonyoncho Pentecostal church. He has been executing his responsibilities with a lot of impunity and we have evidence in respect to that,” Ondieki said.

“He has forcibly assumed the roles of the church treasurer without following the due process and has embezzled about Sh150,000 that we contributed in a fundraiser and we have substantial evidence,” he added.

However, Pastor Omandi has since dismissed the claim as part of the broader plot by a section of church members who want to instead embezzle the funds.

“It is ironical that the same people who want to embezzle money meant for construction are the same witch hunting me. The money is in the account and we had suspended contractors because of the shoddy job. We are in the process of looking for competent contractors,” he said on phone.

He vowed to continue executing his responsibility as usual and challenged those opposing his leadership to instead quit the church.
