Nyaronge Primary School was on Monday issued a cheque worth Sh500,000 through Constituency Development Fund (CDF) kitty.
The institution has been a centre of controversy between Borabu constituency in which it is located and Kitutu Masaba constituency, where the school belong administrative wise.
Speaking during the occasion, Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire said the location of the institution did not matter and pledged to continue supporting it regardless of the standoff between Kitutu Masaba and Borabu leaders.
“I want to bring the debate about the institution to an end. It doesn’t matter whether physically it belongs to Borabu and administrative wise to my constituency since most of learners come from the two constituencies. It’s the responsibility of leaders to help the institution develop,” he said.
Bosire challenged Borabu constituency leadership to also show the same solidarity and offer the institution financial support, which is dearly needed for renovation.
“I understand the pain which you people have gone through for so many years. I promised to give my support and that is what I have done. I will continue doing the same and I have challenged my Borabu counterpart Ben Momanyi to do the same,” he added.
School head teacher Josephine Nyangena hailed the leadership of Bosire and said the contribution was a milestone to the institution’s history.
“We have been bothering the county government for a long time yet it has no mandate on education function. I want on behalf of these people to thank you for this contribution because it’s the first of its kind and we are happy of it. We will immediately embark of major renovation on our classrooms which are in a deplorable condition,” she said.
