Parents, teachers and pupils of Nyasagati primary are now calling on the national government to allocate them with more funds to improve their infrastructure more so the classrooms which are in a bad state.
Led by the school head teacher Mrs Bilha Boyani they said learning in the school is becoming tough especially on a rainy and hot season that puts the school pupils at risk of getting various diseases.
“We have only four permanent classes of which are used with the upper classes and therefore the rest of the students are forced to use open classes which put them at risk of even being attacked by Pneumonia,” she added.
The school head showed her frustrations by writing letters to the ministry of education and to the Constituency Development Fund but all has been in vain.
“The construction cannot entirely be done by parents as currently learning in primary schools is free therefore no one is allowed to get money from them,” she added.
Though when we contacted the are sub-county education officer his phones went unanswered.
Nyasagati primary in the past has been facing challenges more so the infrastructure as it had hit headlines when the wind blew off the roof of the staff room late last year.
