Ahead of the MTV EMA Awards, Wasafi CEO Diamond Platnumz has thrown his weight behind Kenyan counterpart Nyamari Ongegu alias  Nyashinski.

Diamond said Nyashinsky is the best candidate to lift the award.

Speaking on Instagram Diamond urged his over 4 million followers to vote for Nyash in the best African Act category.

“Please let's not forget to vote for @realshinski as the Best African Act on MTV EMA!!! (Ndugu yetu @realshinski yupo katika tunzo za @MtvEma kwenye kipengele cha Msanii bora Africa... tafadhali tusikose mpigia kura ili kwa pamoja tuilete Tunzo hii Nyumbani...),” he wrote.His endorsement is a huge tilting scale for Nyash considering that Diamond himself won the award in 2015.Also, fellow musicians including Khaligraph Jones and lyrical King Kaka called for Kenyan and East Africa to vote for him.

Since relocating from a long hiatus in the United States, Nyash has been riding high with big hits such as Aminia, Mungu Pekee, and Malaika which have seen him amass a huge following of fans.
