Dunstan Ouma Nyaudo will take charge of Ulinzi Stars, as head coach Benjamin Nyangweso plans to exit.

Ulinzi has denied reports that Nyangweso has been fired.

Chairman Major Eric Oloo said Nyangweso had only left the role to undergo further military training.

“He has gone for career progression training within the military which is expected to take one year,” Oloo told Citizen.

This marks the second time Nyangweso leaves the team to enhance his military training having earlier left for three years before returning in 2016 where he deputized for the then head coach Robert Matano and finally taking full charge a year later.

Nyangweso led Ulinzi to win a fourth Kenyan Premier League (KPL) title in 2010 but finished seventh this year; the first time they have ended a campaign outside the top three in three years.
