National Assembly minority Leader Francis Nyenze has finally broken his silence over National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential flag bearer, reports KTN.

Nyenze argued that the Kamba community has been given a raw deal after the alliance named Cord leader Raila Amolo Odinga as the flag bearer and Wiper Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka as his running mate.

"In my own opinion the Kamba nation got a raw deal and we do not want anybody to take Kamba's for a ride," Nyenze said.

He added:  "It would be a very difficult task to convince the Kamba nation to be the second fiddle in 2017," he said. The legislator also argued that Kalonzo was the flag bearer of the alliance."I was in the team and up to the last minute, Kalonzo was the flag bearer. How it changed we still do not know. We were all taken aback," he said.

The leader further claimed that Raila has gone against the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) he signed with Kalonzo before the last general elections.

In the agreement, it was stated that Raila was to back Kalonzo as he goes for the nation’s top seat this year. Nyenze also said that Kalonzo and other leaders from Ukambani including himself campaigned for Raila in the region with the hope that he will support the former vice president in return.

The legislator further said that he was among the people chosen to negotiate over NASA flag bearer but things never went as he wished since the committed could not reach consensus.

A few weeks ago, Nyenze had threatened to lead his community out of NASA if Kalonzo is shortchanged.
