Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has been termed a traitor by some leaders from Ukambani. Led by Minority leader in the National Assembly Francis Nyenze, the politicians are now blaming Musyoka for accepting to be Raila Odinga’s running mate. They have threatened to take serious action against the veteran point man.
Nyenze said that the Akamba needs will not be attended to adequately in NASA. He also distanced himself from the negotiations that led to power sharing in the opposition outfit. Nyenze confirmed that he does not know the contents of the deal and he was not asked for any opinion during its drafting.
The outspoken legislature complained about how Musyoka has taken Kambas for a ride. According to the MP, Kalonzo promised not to take anything else apart from Presidency but he has not honored his word. Nyenze insisted on the validity of the Raila-Kalonzo MoU. He promised to lead his community against the Musyoka crafted political games.
The rift in Eastern Kenya will definitely shake NASA. Kalonzo will have to go back to the drawing board and strategize on how to calm his community. Leaders who are degrading his DP slot will affect NASA’s votes in the region.
