National Assembly minority leader Francis Nyenze has said that the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy(Cord) leader Raila Amolo Odinga’s endorsement as National Super Alliance (NASA) flag bearer with Wiper leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka as his running mate will not appeal to the Kamba nation as we head to the polls.
Nyenze, who has been very vocal when it comes to NASA flag bearer negotiations, said that the alliance will have an uphill task convincing members of this community to back the Orange Democratic Movement(ODM) Leader after he refused to honor a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) he had signed with Wiper when he was seeking to rise to power in 2013.
"It would be a very difficult task to convince the Kamba nation to be the second fiddle in 2017," he said.
The naming of Raila as the NASA Presidential candidate has continued to attract mixed reactions from different factions.
Politicians from the ruling side have rubbished the lineup, arguing that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto will sail through with easy now that the alliance has opted to support Raila, whom they have termed as a perennial loser.
