The late Kitui West Francis Nyenze’s wife, Edith’s parliamentary bid has continued to suffer a number of challenges since a section of Wiper Party leaders endorsed her to replace her late husband.

Barely a month after two MCAs objected her endorsement, Former Kitui East parliamentary hopeful Milton Mwendwa Kitute has equally differed with the party’s top brass over the matter.

According to a local daily, Kitute said that leadership is no longer a family affair since other people are also ready to take over power following the demise of the vocal lawmaker.

In an exclusive interview with the local daily, Kitute said that it is unacceptable for the leaders to back the wife of the late legislator as a way of celebrating his life in the political arena.

“This is about the Ukambani unity…It is not about other leaders like the governor whom I respect so much as my party leader and Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka who feel they have an obligation to choose a candidate for the people. It is not about one famliy…”Kitute lamented.

He instead said that the leaders should pave way for other aspirants to contest for the seat as well in order for the people to decide.
